CRITICAL FIGHT FOR SB 91
Despite your amazing outpouring of support for this bill and almost NO opposition from the Georgia State Senate, the Senate leadership has stymied SB 91 in the Rules Committee.
We need you to remain engaged on this issue. We still need your action to get this bill to the floor for a vote.
SB91 can provide greater care, build more shelters and make sure that where children have been torn asunder through sexual exploitation, that they can be made whole again through initiatives like those offered by Inner Harbour, the Juvenile Justice Fund, Wellspring Living and others.
Our friends at A Future. Not A Past. have been working tirelessly to stop the prostitution of children in Georgia. They have launched an online petition at www.weurgeyou.com to gather signatures from all over Georgia. We have two bills in the legislature – Senate Bill 69 and Senate Bill 91, and this grassroots support will be used to show our legislators that as Georgians that we will not tolerate the exploitation of our children. Please add your name to this petition. You can help us out even more by forwarding this link to all your e-list friends and acquaintances that live in Georgia. We are aiming for 100,000 signatures.
2. Call Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.
Without at least a neutral position from the Lt. Governor, this bill will never leave the Rules Committee. The message is “Please provide for the child victims of sexual exploitation- pass SB 91.”
